The YBRATO ReedReflector Ligature features a solid, CNC-milled reflector on the reed-side contact surface, specifically engineered for a sound rich in overtones and exceptional projection. Its innovative design utilizes two longitudinal rails to achieve minimal contact area on the reed’s spine, ensuring an extremely secure fit while allowing for maximum resonance.
Unlike conventional ligatures, the ReedReflector employs a solder-free, rolled and bolted construction for the band. This prevents the brass from hardening, preserving its natural tonal qualities. Precision continues with the integrated left/right-hand thread mechanism for perfect centering and rapid mounting. True control is at your fingertips with the ergonomically knurled adjustment screw for effortless handling. Each unit includes a custom-fitted TPE cap. Precision where sound begins!

From the perspective of the YBRATO SweetSpot series, the ReedReflector is a “normal” ligature with the same high-quality and genuine construction. On the front side sits the CNC-milled reflector, which guides the reed but only touches it via two longitudinal rails. This promises minimal damping of the reed vibration. Due to the special hybrid construction, the ligature still sits extremely securely on the mouthpiece.

The ReedReflector is available in two distinct versions: the Standard Edition, featuring a precision-milled and glass-bead blasted end nut, and the Crystal Edition embellished with crystals from Swarovski®.
This premium version incorporates genuine Swarovski crystals to add a touch of brilliance to your performance. Choose your individual crystal colour from our carefully selected colour palette.
There is also a silver-plated version available exclusively for clarinets, where you can choose between the Standard and Crystal Editions.

Every ReedReflector is handcrafted in Germany in small production runs. The core feature is the reed-facing side, precision-milled from a solid metal block using CNC technology to ensure maximum acoustic accuracy.
The ergonomically knurled screw allows for finest adjustments, while our specialized rolled and screwed construction deliberately avoids solder joints. This preserves the natural resonance of the brass—ensuring a pure, unaltered sound and exceptional durability.

I already have numerous ligatures in use, from Vandoren Optimum to Olegature, Brilhart 3-Band, and many others. Therefore, I was quite skeptical when I ordered this new Ybrato ligature. But I must honestly say: I am truly thrilled! Overall top-notch workmanship; the screw mechanism tightens symmetrically and keeps the reed exactly 'on track.' The idea with the slider for aligning and securing the reed is great and provides perfect stability. The ligature has exactly the right thickness to provide a secure hold on the one hand, but without feeling too bulky on the mouthpiece on the other. This makes the ligature significantly slimmer than, for example, the Vandoren Optimum. The gimmick with the interchangeable round elements – not so important for me – but that is, of course, purely a matter of visual taste. If you like, you can really go wild there. Sound: top! I tend to play a rather dark jazz sound with jazz reeds and corresponding mouthpieces. This sound is perfectly supported, with a very slight 'sizzle' that makes the sound feel 'light.' Also really good: the Ybrato ligature plays perfectly across all registers, even with difficult reeds. Conclusion: top ligature, this one's a keeper :)
I had very few matching options for my Drake NY Jazz in my ligature collection. I had a few sent to me, but none of them were sonically convincing...
